I was listening to TripleJ last night and they were talking about a 'Swap your frock' meet being held at Fed Square. You had to buy a ticket, and then could take up to 6 items of (good quality) clothing that you no longer wanted or wore, get 6 tokens in exchange, and then take one item of clothing per token.

I've just started doing a clear out of clothes, and I'm sure lots of you also have a cupboard full of clothes that for whatever reason, you just no longer wear. So I was thinking.....who would be up for getting together at someone's house one day and organising a clothes swap? Something along the lines of everyone bringing up to X pieces of clothing (all washed, in good condition, not crappy tracky pants or old t-shirts etc), hanging them all up, then raiding each other's old stock?

I guess it would only work if there are enough of us that would a) want to get involved and b) actually have enough pieces that we think others might want. I know I have a few other girlfriends that would probably be keen too :)

We could incorporate a wine and cheese day into the mix ;) And at the end, anything unclaimed can be dropped at a local op shop to find another happy owner :)

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Does anyone who bought extras still have one spare? My friend Jacqui is keen to grab one (she's overseas until October).

If anyone wants one, for some reason I didn't even have to enter mine to get my tickets, so I'm pretty sure mine is still valid. Anyway it's up for grabs to the highest bidder ;)

So, apparently the only way to make a booking is to book for dinner as well. This would probably make sense as it would be nice to have a table, and it's always so packed in the bar side. And their food is yummy :)

I was thinking a Saturday so people wouldn't have to rush home from work to get frocked up then head back into the city. The only Saturday I can see remotely free in the next while is Saturday 1st October (which is also Dragon Dreaming.....is anyone going to this?).

How would this date work for those interested in coming? Say, dinner at 7.30, then staying on for drinks :)

Let me know and I'll get booking!

Is anyone from the (vaguely) north side driving out to St Andrews tomorrow? I can get to yours and provide free in-car entertainment :D

I've been waiting for a chance to wear out my new pretty pink fairy/ballerina princess dress, but instead I'm going to make my own excuse.

I brought up a while ago the idea of having a cocktail night at Cookie in the city. They have the most amazing list of cocktails, beer and wine, and also do yummy Thai food. Who would be keen on organising a group to get all dressed up and go?

We'd probably have to book a bit in advance, and wait for a time when people have the monies (not the cheapest place for if many cocktails are to be consumed). I can't remember how to get the DMF calendar hooked up on my iCal, but is there a Friday/Saturday evening free sometime in the next month or two? Who's in?!?!

Sonkite/Minilogue (of 'my best Rainbow dancefloor moment ever' fame), Fat Freddy's Drop, Blue King Brown, Sun Control Species, Opiuo....the list goes on.

November 26th-28th, Pyrenees Ranges. It's the Rainbow guys doing it, so looks to be an awesome festival. Tickets out soon, will see how much they are. But who would be keen?

Next Friday 18th June, 7.30pm at Greenfields (378 Sydney Road, Brunswick).

So far it's:

Alana +1
Neverland Ben
edit: Corch (+1?)

Missing anyone?

ps. As an advanced warning, they are the typical, ad hoc, disorganised asian restaurant :P But the food is yum and cheap! It's also BYO :)
June 19th (Saturday), 4-8pm

Mulled wine! Fire performers! Wandering minstrels! Mulled wine! ;)

Tickets can be bought at the gate ($8) or online ($7). I'll be there for a bit before heading back to mine around 7pm for birthday mojitos and then My Aeon :)

Who's keen?

Now that Friday 18th of June is free, I'm putting it down as my birthday dinner night :) I'm thinking of going to Greenfields (cheap, great Asian food) on Sydney Road.

Let me know if you can make it :) It would be good to see people before I head o/s for a month!
